Elis laundry on Acre Lane clean sheets and gowns for the NHS. They perform a vital service for Public health and yet they are not being flexible with the health needs of their workforce during the Corona Virus Pandemic. 

We have asked for four things from Elis management

• Full pay for self isolation, sickness or on other medical recommendation
• More frequent breaks for hand-washing, adequate supplies of soap, water, etc
• Appropriate hand-cleaning materials for mobile workers
• Suspension of work tasks involving contact (where possible) 

We have support from the local MP, Bell Ribeiro-Addy and local councillors who are concerned that Elis’ policies are putting lives at risk. In particular making staff who live with vulnerable people come into work otherwise they will be forced onto Statutory Sick Pay is unethical and immoral.
