Lambeth Council are planning on a borough-wide restructure, threatening five children’s centres with closure. Another seven centres will have their provision cut in half under these proposals and many staff are faced with losing their jobs.
- The five centres threatened with closure are: Coin Street, Heathbrook, Lark Hall, Sunnyhill & Weir Link.
- The seven centres facing cuts are: Crown Lane, Effra, Jessop, Rosendale (Cherry Tree), Streatham Hub, Treehouse & Woodmansterne.

What you can do:
1 – TALK TO PARENTS: spread the word about the irreparable damage that the Council’s plans will do to our children’s centres.
We have answed some basic FAQs here.
2 – SHARE THE PETITION: and ask people you know to share the petition with people they know too!
You can find the online petition here.

4 – ORGANISE A PROTEST!
Some parents held ‘stay and play’ demonstrations inside the Town Hall to attract the Council’s attention. Others have taken their own protest photos at their local children’s centres with banners and placards. You can hold your own events at your local children’s centre.
5 – BE CREATIVE
