Rally outside the reopened Carnegie ‘library’ – 15 February

Carnegie Library reopening rally 15 February from 1pm!

After nearly two years, Lambeth will reopen part of the Carnegie Library building at 1.00pm on Thursday 15 February.  Bookshelves have been hastily placed in the former main library room as a temporary arrangement; the plan is to move the books into a front room later.  This reduced provision, largely without library staff, is far from acceptable, and we will continue campaigning for reinstatement of full library service.

Please gather from 12 noon on Thursday, bringing ribbons and messages for the railings, wearing your “Don’t Steal Our Libraries” t-shirts. More t-shirts and badges will be available for anyone without one yet!

We hope to see you all there.
